IP Man 4 Movie Review

IP Man 4 is your good old Kung Fu Porn. Story is built around some major fights which you can see from afar.

The storytelling method is very simple staightforward, following the death of Ip Man's wife, and Ip Man's son was not doing so well in school. The progression of the story was rather cliche, but the use of powerful moments of the little bits of information you get along the way is very well done.

So you end up with moments like this scene in previous Ip Man

Pacing of the story was quite well done. There are some story progression followed by fights every few minutes. I would say that many of these fights are not really that necessary, but as Kung Fu porn, hell, keep it coming...

From the trailers, you can already expect the various fights which you have seen. There are 2 major boss fights, one with the Karate Guy and the other with Scott Adkins. The build up of the fights and the choreography is well done, making the fight scenes very exciting.

The underlying theme seems very apt for today's climate -- racism. Well, there is little progress, but perhaps racism has became slightly better before Trump?

Well, overall, the movie has a very simple plot and action scenes are well done. Pacing is good and the fights are definitely worth the ticket price.

Plot and characters are pretty simply. You can tell the bad guy when you see them.

Just go watch it... ok?

《拆弹专家》SHOCK WAVE - Andy Lau - 2017 Movie Review

Shock Wave is the latest Andy Lau movie in 2017

It is an action movie, glorifying the HK police.

Besides you typical plot where Hero cop betrays the antagonist, Hero cop falls in love, antagonist comes back and kidnaps the girlfriend, the movie is pretty much straightforward.

The action scenes and special effects however are pretty good in the movie and there is much explosions and bodycounts. The stunt driving was very good as well.

The pace of the movie was good, dialogue was pretty ok and premise a little believable. Many things made a little sense in the movie.

Overall, I rather enjoyed the movie and I would recommend watching it.

7/10

Ghostbusters 2016 Movie Review

I watched Ghostbusters, solely because there were some scenes shot in Boston Chinatown. I've read some reviews and was confused. This movie was actually pretty funny.

This is a complete reboot, non of the previous Ghostbusters storyline was in there, and it was updated to 2016. There were also some Cameos from the original movie. (No Harold Ramis, because he is no longer with us)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to say that I enjoyed the movie. Its a good comedy, which could be made a lot scarier with today's CGI technology, but they decided to keep it a comedy with ghosts.

I really like the way the story was built up, to make sense of why they wanted to be Ghostbusters, why they knew science and technology, etc. But they did not try to explain too much and the pace was good, and the story was always progressing.

I think many people were uncomfortable with the all female cast of Ghostbusters, but they actually made it work, and the whole feel of this reboot is owned by the new cast. The comedy was pretty good, and it was a fun movie to watch, I'd say its even better than Independence Day.

It was a lot more of a Comedy rather than an action movie, and the final "boss" seemed relatively easy to take down.

Overall, I'd say this is a good fresh reboot of the movie and it is worth watching.

Rating: 7.5/10

The Peanuts Movie Review

If you have watch all the Charlie Brown movies, chances are, you might think you've seen much of this movie before. All the same Charlie Brown jokes can be seen in this movie; Charlie Brown flying a kite, Charlie Brown kicking a football, "The little red hair gird", Charlie Brown pitching and the baseball flys towards him making him naked, Snoopy's fantasies, etc.

Most Charlie Brown movies make you feel for Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown fails at everything he does, and does not give up. Most of the other characters are very supportive of Charlie Brown and anticipate his failure, and when Charlie Brown succeeds, it becomes newsworthy.

I'd like to say that this animation of Peanuts is done pretty well. It still feels very much like a Peanuts comic strip, but with 3-D. It‘s also a neat extension of Schulz’s style, but the 3-D makes Pig-Pen's dust look AWESOME.

I like the way the pace of this movie is going and how the stories, especially Snoopy's fantasy is somewhat linked to the storyline unlike other Peanuts movies. The storytelling is spot on. The Snoopy sequence, though non-verbal tells a lot of the story without saying a word.

This movie is also much less dark. With Schulz, Charlie Brown's BIG failure and bittersweet endings in a boy named Charlie Brown, can be a rather depressing movie to watch, but this Peanuts movie, which feels much like a more upbeat reboot of all the Charlie Brown movie reveals Charlie Brown's virtues and eventually having the Little Red hair girl noticing him.

This movie hasn’t been made exclusively for adult nostalgists, many of the kids liked the movie and it is set to inspire a new generation of Peanuts and Snoopy fans.

Overall, this is a great movie, it is actually quite inspiring and feel good at the end. With the good editing, pacing and storytelling, this movie is enjoyable to watch.

Overall: 8/10

Singh Is Bliing Movie Review

Singh Is Bliing is a story about a simple village boy, who loves his mom, respects his father and rescues a superspy hot girl.

Expect absolutely no story, unconnected scenes, politically incorrect humor and lots of fun. After the whole movie, you will ask, who cares about the plot, or is there even a point to this movie, but you will not care and simply have fun.

Again, it is October, and watching this after lots of beer after Oktoberfest is a good idea.

Pixels Movie Review

Synopsis:
As kids in the 1980s, Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), Will Cooper (Kevin James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Josh Gad), and Eddie “The Fire Blaster” Plant (Peter Dinklage) saved the world thousands of times – at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. Now, they’re going to have to do it for real. In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults -- and now-U.S. President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pixels is an interesting movie.

It really feels like any other Adam Sandler movie, and in this movie, he saves the world. This is a very hard movie to review because it is rather forgettable. However, I did have fun watching it.

Adam Sandler plays a blue collar worker who could not get over his loss when he competed in the world arcade championship and lost to Peter Dinklage. The character build up is not very strong however, and you do not really feel for the characters.

I would say this movie may appeal more to kids. It is a disaster movie that does not take itself seriously. Kevin James is an unpopular president and does try hard to create some funny moments. The special effects is pretty solid, but the whole story and comedy is mediocre at best.

The arcaders -- the team assembled to defeat the alien assault -- seems to eventually not require much else to defeat the aliens. There are many plot holes to overlook but it is a pretty fun movie to watch.

I would say wait for the cable release to watch this on TV instead of catching this in the movies. I'm sure there are many better movies to catch.

Overall: 4/10
Catch this on Cable.

Furious 7 Movie Review

After hearing lots of good things about the movie, I decided to watch this movie. I've seen the trailer many times and I do like the Fast and the Furious Franchise, and I've met Paul Walker before and he's a great man who had done great work in Haiti, and watching his last movie, it would be special, it had to be.

This movie is directed by James Wan, a Malaysian who had done great movies like the Conjuring, Saw and Insidious. I like his movies and decided to see if he will do Furious 7 justice.

Watching the movie, you get to see all the characters that are in the Fast and the Furious Franchise, including Lucas Black from Tokyo Drift, which I felt was a side story from Fast and the Furious. There was an elaborate way to tie up the series and it did work in a certain way to build continuity in the series.

The show starts off with Jason Statham visiting his brother in the hospital (Fast and the Furious 6) and swearing vengeance. In this movie, you get to see Tony Jaa and Kurt Russel as well, making this movie full of action stars.

From the trailer, this movie seemed over the top with superhuman feats performed by the characters, however in the movie, all the action, comedy seemed to fall in place, with the pacing of the action done well so you do not feel overwhelmed with information.

While watching the movie, knowing that Paul Walker died in a car accident before filming the whole movie, I was anticipating some form of death for Brian O'Conner. And at the end of the movie, I was actually moved by the ending, to a point where I nearly had tears coming out as Brian (Paul Walker's Character) is retired with a happy family, with a short tribute of all the different moments of Brian in the Fast and the Furious Movies in a solemn send off which I'm sure will leave the audience tearing.

Overall: 9/10

Go watch it in cinemas.

Ah Boys To Men 3: Frogmen -- Movie Review

Ah Boys to Men 3 is an anticipated sequel, however, this is of a totally story arc, and there is no relation to Ah Boys to Men.

This is another Jack Neo movie, no double about it. The hyper local jokes, are very good, provided you know Singapore, and then again, the whole premise of Ah Boys to Men is very Singapore centric.

I'd say the overall acting and story is pretty good. Many Singaporeans who serve NS will relate to many of the jokes and the characters in the movie. However, I do feel that the special effects in the beginning of the movie is very bad. What's worse is -- the beginning terrorist scene is not even needed and does not really relate to any part of the story.

Being a movie, the whole pro-NS part is clearly seen, and it is rather enjoyable movie for Singaporeans. A good command of Singlish and Singapore context, as well as Cantonese and Hokkien is required to understand the movie and appreciate it.

-- Robin Low

Great movie: 7/10
A great show to watch, especially if you have served NS

Jupiter Ascending Movie Review

  1. Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under signs that predicted future greatness, but her reality as a woman consists of cleaning other people's houses and endless bad breaks. Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered hunter, arrives on Earth to locate her, making Jupiter finally aware of the great destiny that awaits her: Jupiter's genetic signature marks her as the next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

I was a little intrigued by the big names of the directors. The special effects in the trailers looked good, and I decided to give this a go. At the start of the movie, the set up was reasonable. A girl from Chicago with big dreams cleaning toilets and hating her life.

The movie however, takes a sharp turn and shows you Jupiter, aliens, space, boom boom boom. This is visually pleasing but the story / characters does not really make it any better. Then Sean Bean character shows up and all I could think of is how is he going to be killed.

As the story progresses, you have the feeling that it is a remake of a sparkling vampire love story, but with aliens, flying boots, werewolves with wings, dragon men, in space.

Definitely a miss and a waste of SFX on this movie. This is 2 hours of my life I cannot get back.

Overall: 2/10

Don't watch, even matinee... not worth the money and time.

'Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno' Movie Review

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno is the second part of the live action anime of the same title, and it stays true to the Anime.

Like many of you who are reading this, I've watched the anime years back, and watching this again in live action does bring back some good memories. The casting, set and costume if pretty fabulous, except for the fact that you get to see Shishio's face before he was all in bandages.

For me, Tatsuya Fujiwara has been type casted as the Death Note guy, and it felt weird that he is now Shishio.

I would say, the editing and conversion of such a long anime into a 2 hour movie is no easy task, and the director has done a superb job. Much of the side story that does not move the plot is removed, leaving behind key scenes.

I would share some spoliers as there is little deviation from the anime. The plot to get Kenshin accept to go to Kyoto with the death of the Home Minister is done pretty well, and the fight between Sojiro and Kenshin where Kenshin broke his sword is short and sweeet.

Then the scene where Kenshin got the true reverse blade sword by visiting the son of the sword maker and fighting the guy with 4 swords is done pretty well too. The whole build up between this story arc and the next is superb and luckily for us, the final episode will be in a month.

I was quite surprised that this movie was above my expectation, and I'm really looking forward to the last part of the movie. The fight scenes can be a little brutal but overall, the pace of the movie and story flow is very good.

This is definitely a MUST watch if you are a Kenshin Fan. If you watched the first movie, why not try catch this one too!

Overall: 8/10

Iceman 3D 冰封俠: 重生之门 (Donnie Yen) 2014 Movie Review

Iceman is the new Donnie Yen Movie. This is the remake of Iceman Cometh (急凍奇俠) by Yuen Biao 1989.

I must say, I love these cheesy pseudo Sci-Fi movies, and if you like this kind of Action Comedy HK Flick, you will not be disappointed much by this new movie.

The movie starts with much action, and the whole movie is rather action packed, however, I must warn, there is not much plot and not much logic behind the story. Donnie Yen is a Imperial Guard, being cryogenically frozen and transported to the future. There is not much more to it, just that he has great Kung Fu and has his adventures in modern day HK.

I cannot really reveal much more as that is pretty much the movie, and anything more will be the whole story. This is a rather enjoyable flick to watch, but I need to give a clear warning. THIS MOVIE IS PART 1 of many... THIS MOVIE DOES NOT END!!

I am not an advocate of movies which cannot end in one movie, and although this is a good Sunday matinee flick, I still would not really recommend watching this on the big screen and paying full price.

Overall: 6/10.

If you like the old Iceman Cometh (1989) this is an updated remake.

300: Rise of an Empire Movie Review

Sort of during / continuation of the movie 300 adapted from the Frank Miller Comic, this movie is sort of an extension of the 300 movie. Thinking of game term, this is a side quest or a add on pack you need to purchase.

Throughout the movie, you see topless men everywhere and gratuitous blood and gore. The naval battle and the horse scene is pretty awesome, but the movie lacks the momentum like what they did in 300.

The stylistic death scenes is what you would expect in a video game today, and no doubt, there will be a video game around this movie. Lots of blood, lots of gore, lots of topless man... Wait, did I forgot about the plot of the movie?

If you love the slo-mo gore and blood in 300, this movie will not disappoint you.

If you love hot bodies, men with great chiseled bodies, this movie will not disappoint you.

If you enjoy blood and mutilation with tons of decapitation, piercing through bodies, this movie will not disappoint you.

Overall, the movie is stylistically very pretty, some of the scenes pretty well done, but the pacing of the movie is not as good as the original 300.

Watching this in 3D with more blood and gore is pretty worth it, otherwise, watch it at home with lots of alcohol!

Rating: 6/10

The Monkey King [Donnie Yen] (大闹天宫 ) Movie Review

This movie follows closely to the cartoons and books I read as a child. The movie set is ok, and the costumes are amazing, however, while watching the movie, I felt that the overly used and abused CG (Computer Graphics) makes the movie feel "kid focused". Sadly, the CG in the movie is not even good CG. very fake/bad made for TV quality, which makes Sharknado look amazing.

The whole movie was pretty entertaining, but for the price of movies today, I would say, you can miss this and wait for the DVD as the big screen does not add anything to the story.

The "Wire-fu" everything seems pretty lame, and along with the blue/green screen effects, the movie feels like a cheap/ low budget flick.

With actors like Aaron Kwok, Chow Yun Fatt and Donnie Yen, it is sad to see that the budget went to the actors not the special effects to say.

Overall, still an enjoyable flick, very cheesey effects.

5/10 - Wait for the DVD

The Secret life of Walter Mitty Movie Review.

Before going to the movie, I've heard good and bad things about the movie. And I would say, many people judge the movie before watching it, because of the movie title or the book.

This is a Ben Stiller Movie. Not really based solely on the book written in 1939. The character is the same day dreamer, Walter Mitty taking on an adventure, however it is not the same as that Walter Mitty Story in 1939.

Movie Description.
"A day-dreamer escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker are threatened, he takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined."

This movie does not try to explain the past of Walter Mitty, although some things are inferred. And the whole movie, other than his fantastic daydream adventures, is actually quite realistic, as Walter Mitty is not just some nerd/office worker, he was a teenager who can skateboard in the past.

I like the movie, as it inspires me to do more. Many people limit themselves by looking at what Walter Mitty did, and say that this only happens in the movie, and yes, picking on little details of movie like - flying from NYC to NUUK is expensive. But flying from JFK to LHR to Iceland is relatively affordable. (www.icelandexpress.com)

But that is not the point, many people fear change, yet they make New Years Resolution to change. Many people do not like their work and get into bad situations as they fear the unknown. They may have a lot of other skills and passions, never realized as they were brought up to "get an education, get a stable job, climb up the corporate ladder."

The movie does a good job of embracing the moment, and showing the grandeur of Iceland and Greenland, which I've always wanted to visit. Focusing on this adventure, and how Walter Mitty let go his fears and just seize the moment, the movie does a great job in telling this story.

There are many voices that speak to us and motivates us, why silence them and only let the negative voices in you speak up to tell you about the dangers, and question you on everything you do? Its a great movie showing what adventure lies ahead if we only want to put some irrational fears aside and live the moment.

Again, this has got nothing to do with the book, nothing to do with the other movie about Walter Mitty. This is something else, so don't be disappointed. And Walter Mitty does not become a super hero that save the world from just a regular office guy.

Overall, I feel that the release of this movie is quite timely as it is a great motivating story to change your new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

-- Robin Low

Overall: 8/10
Catch it in the Cinemas in the new year.

47 Ronin Movie Review

47 Ronin, a movie with a lot of special effects starring Keanu Reeves.

There is not much plot to this one dimensional movie about Bushido and Samurai honor in a fantasy magical setting.

There are some enjoyable and exciting bits in the movie, and the effects are relatively well done. The cast is pretty good as well, but the choice of using a tale that is some what based on some pseudo Japanese legend, and trying to include some Japanese Culture into the whole story does not do it for me.

Not to be a purist, but everyone speaking English in a bad Japanese accent, and having weird semi-realistic Japanese Seppukku scene, and then an unrealistic one at the end does not do it for me.

I am totally fine if this movie was over the top surreal as there is already magic involved, and having it based on some fantasy story would do ok, but trying to make it like some form of Japan Samurai Spirit worship movie with actors speaking in a bad Japanese accent feels slightly offensive to me.

The movie however was pretty enjoyable although it was pretty straightforward, samurai getting honor back movie.

Not much more to say really... Its Keanu Reeves doing what Keanu Reeves does.

Overall, 5/10

Watch it in a matinee or something with friends to have fun, or not watch it at all....

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Movie Review

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

This movie is the second part of the trilogy. If you have watched the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, this movie has more action than just "trying to get somewhere"

Overall, there are 2 scenes which are memorable. The barrel fight scene is simply amazing. It showed you the coordination between the Dwarves, the plate throwing scene from Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is now an axe throwing scene where the Dwarves use an axe, throwing it to another Dwarf who continue to chop at a log over them as they flow down a river in barrels. The scene was fun, exciting and amazing.

This movie though, more than 161 minutes, did not feel long at all. If you like Lord of the Rings, you will like this movie. Strangely, the relationship between Tauriel and Kili was explored here, which I did not understand. Was there a need for the love interest angle?

I like the way this movie bring you back to the reason why Bilbo was chosen... As a burglar to steal an item... And he will take it... From a Dragon.

And yes! There is a Dragon! The second scene is the meeting with Smaug. Indeed the journey reached the destination when they entered the mountain and met the Dragon, and the set / effects in the undermountain was amazing.

I liked the movie overall, however, I did not expect the movie to end with such a cliffhanger. It felt too much like, "Please give me your money for the third movie" rather than a complete movie. For that, this is not a complete movie for which I will not rate.

Fruitvale Station - Movie Review

Fruitvale Station.

This movie is based on a true story of Oscar Grant, a young man who was killed by BART police officer Johannes Mehserle at the Oakland, California Fruitvale Bay Area Rapid Transit Station (BART).

Oscar is a man down on his luck and probably had some bad decisions in his life, but after his daughter was born, decides to clean up his life.

This is not a long movie, and it takes place on the last day of 2008. The movie follows the last day of the life of Oscar as he met a series of events which actually builds his character up and makes you feel for the character.

The interaction between the character felt very real and you can feel the joy and mischievousness of Oscar and his experience on the last day. There was several humorous parts, and even though you may already know the ending, you will still feel the outrage that such an incident could happen.

Oscar's mom told him to take public transportation when he goes to watch the fireworks and he followed her instructions, but unfortunately he met an enemy from prison and had a scuffle. The fight was not even the severe as may know, the train was very crowded (during new years) and no weapons were involved. But the transit police came and tried to arrest people involved in the fight.

Then the whole ending came as an officer claimed he mistook his gun for a tazer, shot Oscar and killed him.

The movie was very well directed and indeed, very very sad. Several people in the cinema cried, and many people swore not to take public transportation again.

The pacing of the movie was a little slow at the start, but if does get you to know the characters and their struggles before the abrupt end.

I'm not a love story fan or a sob story fan but it is a Great Movie. (But may make you sad the whole day)

Overall: 9/10

R.I.P.D. Movie Review

Yes, the R.I.P.D.

This is a Supernatural Comedy based on the comic with the same title. It stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. (Also James Hong and Marisa Miller as their avatars.)

From the trailer, you pretty much can tell a lot about the movie. Ryan Reynolds is a veteran cop, killed by his partner and joined R.I.P.D. to hunt renegade souls. Jeff Bridges is assigned as his partner, and they get involved in a bigger plot that Kevin Bacon was planning, to release all the souls on earth to bring fourth the Armageddon.

I could see that Jeff Bridges's character, the lawman from the old west who keeps talking about his death and how coyotes ate his face instead of having a proper funeral, can be pretty annoying, but I do find a lot of the interactions pretty hilarious as well.

This was an ok movie. Plot was very straightforward and simple, and the action scenes are pretty ok. But as a resident of Boston, you can identify a lot of the movie and where it was shot at, and there was actually great fun trying to figure out where the location was.

I like the movie overall, and not sure if I would pay extra for 3D, but I'd recommend it if you like Boston.

Overall - 6.5/10

Pacific Rim - Movie Review

Wow! Jaeger (Giant Robot) vs Kaiju (Giant Monster) Movie... Can't go wrong right?

The trailer looks awesome, the graphics rendering and posters look awesome, and directed by Guillermo del Toro??

One good thing I can say is that the 3D of this movie is pretty damn good.

If no matter what I write, you still intend to watch this movie, don't read any further. PLEASE. Because, I'm going to share spoilers and tell you why this is the WORST Movie I've watched in this decade.

But, as many of you who would like to watch this movie would understand, Giant Robot vs Kaiju movies are not there for the plot, not there for logic, and not there for acting right? The premise of using Giant Robots against Giant monsters is pretty, erm... THERE IS NOT WORDS TO DESCRIBE IT.

I mean, maybe it is written by the same writers as Sharknado, it would make more sense.

Here is the low down.

1) Freaking Kaiju comes out from a rift in the Pacific Rim and attacks the San Francisco. It eventually got taken down, but death toll is high. Then another Kaiju came and destroyed another city. The human race united and decided to build Giant Robots to fight Giant Monsters.

2) You need 2 brain-connected pilots to pilot the Jaegers, they need to be in sync and they fight the Kaiju hand to hand.

3) The main character (the Jaeger Pilot) loses his brother in a fight against a Kaiju and ended up in Alaska where he became a construction worker for a few years. (Because he likes building? Instead of tearing building down?)

4) After killing Kaiju(s) and losing a lot of Jaegers, the human race decides to build walls around cities instead of building bigger and more powerful giant robots. And guess what, the humans discontinued the Jaeger project.

5) The walls could not stop the Kaiju in Australia, and the Jaegers had to be revived to fight the Kaiju again.

6) The scientist in the movie decided that he could connect with the mind of the Kaiju (yes, they have 2 brains like dinosaurs because they are too big?) and the scientist can find out more information about them, and find out their secrets, just to find that they have hive minds and they were being sent over to destroy humanity, which they previously came and killed the dinosaurs, but decided that the planet was not ready yet as they prefer a planet with holes in the ozone and a higher level of carbon dioxide. So our global warming caused them to come.

7) At this point, 4 Jaegers remain, and when the Kaiju appeared, it was the first time they came in pairs. They destroy 2 Jaegers, and could shut down the third one because they can emit an EMP pulse to shut down the electronics of the Jaegers (the third Jaeger) The Heroes have to get into their Jaeger and save the day because their nuclear powered Jaeger is analog while the others are digital. (What ever that means) Does it mean that their Jaeger is running on carburetors while the others are fuel injection? But I do see computer screens in their Jaeger.

8) After defeating both the Jaegers, the Heros return. The scientist who connected  his mind with the Kaiju, decided that he needs to find out more because he did not get enough information before the last Kaiju's brain died. With 2 freshly dead Kaiju, the scientist wanted to connect with the brain again.

9) Yes, the one of enemy Kaiju was pregnant, and the baby was in the brain? Huh? And the baby came out and ate Ron Perlman... Nooooooooooooooooooooo! Talk about fucking with your head, I guess the Kaiju are fucked in their heads too. So the baby came out and was strangled by its own umbilical cord. And the scientist could get information from its brain, and they find out their plan to bomb the "Rift" would not work as they need the Kaiju's DNA before the rift accepts them.

10) They follow the plan, to go to the "rift" and nuke it shut. Hmmm, as in the last battle, the Kaiju shut down the third Jaeger, but did not destroy it? One of the pilots got injured. Remember, there was a big whoop about connected minds, the Boss man, yes, the one in charge of the operations, was also a Jaeger pilot, and he could miraculously sync with the pilot with the injured partner, because he has experience.

11) So, all the Kaiju that came before were "Category 3, and later Category 4..." Guess what? Now they fight underwater with 2 - "Category 4" Kaiju and a "Category 5". And as expected, the Boss Man sacrifices himself and his copilot as they were carrying the nuclear bomb to seal the rift, and he managed to detonate the payload as the Kaiju(s) close up on them while the Heros kill their Kaiju with a Sword. The Heroes then dragged a dead Kaiju and wanted to go through the Rift and detonate their Jaeger, and not surprisingly, the category 5 Kaiju did not die and the Heros killed it easily with their sword and just into the rift with the Kaiju. (I guess the Cat. 5 Kaiju too much damage from the Nuclear explosion and died easy)

12) As the Heros sustained serious damage and were running out of oxygen, the Main hero decided to give his oxygen to his cute asian girlfriend co-pilot and continue on the mission of detonating his Jaeger. And the denotation failed. Yeah right, no oxygen, and it fails right? He needs to do a manual override. But of course, he succeeds.

13) The Hero escapes in the escape pod and goes back through the rift. SO, WHAT IS THIS SHIT ABOUT NEEDING A KAIJU TO GET THROUGH THE RIFT AGAIN??

14) The Hero reaches the surface of the water and his girlfriend who arrived earlier swims to his pod. He appears to have no life signs, she hugs him and cries, and like the Matrix and all the other lamo ending of endings, the Hero wakes up!

Yay! They live happily ever after.

Apart from the plot, acting, storyline, science, premise, overly game like CGI, bad romance ending, I can say, I kinda enjoyed this movie.

Again, I would say, the 3-D is very good.

As this movie falls so low beyond my expectation, I cannot rate it. But I'm looking forward to watch Sharknado now.

Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain - Movie Review

Initially, I was like "Who is Kevin Hart?"

When I see his face, I was like, that is the dude in the scary movie, and I did not think much of the movie. "Kevin Hart is the short black guy, that is kinda funny, right?"

So after checking Youtube, I found that he has 1.8 million views on one of his videos which was pretty funny, and since I was given these preview tickets, I gave it a chance.

At the theater,I realized that this show was packed! Nobody told me he was that famous? I mean, did I miss something? And apparently I did! The demographics of the crowd was 90% African American, and I guess I was at the right place to watch an African American comedian...

So apparently, this was his sold out performance at the Madison Square Garden, and various other clips put together, to be "milked" into a movie. Brilliant idea right? My thoughts were, is this going to be worth the money to go to the cinema to watch this?

HELL YEAH!

This is basically paying to watch a GOOD stand up comedy sketch. It is very crude, with lots of swearing though. A lot of original stuff, very entertaining. And most importantly, you get to learn about new stuff...

LAB - Local Ass Bitch

This is something I can call a lot of people I know... right?

Overall, this would make a great matinee, great energy, loads of fun and very interesting!
